In 2025, Teradata will offer a new Accreditation Program, including free web-based training, assessments, and digital badging to promote individual achievements. Foundational, Professional, and Expert accreditations will be offered on topics like data engineering, database administration, analytics, and architecture.

Accreditation Program and certification transition programs FAQs

Accreditation

The Accreditation Program validates knowledge on various job roles and topic areas and helps learners upskill and explore technical job roles and Teradata products.

It is expected that the launch order will be (for all levels): Data Engineering, Database Administration, Analytics, and Architecture, with a new accreditation being released each quarter of 2025.

The Accreditation Program is based on Teradata training in Teradata University.

Yes. Exams are available for each level of each accreditation, based on Teradata training content. Exam questions are validated by SMEs.

Job role and product based topics include data engineering, database administration, analytics, architecture, and more.

Requirements differ by accreditation level. In all cases, training completion with an 80% passing exam score earns the accreditation and digital badge. Test-out offerings are available.

Training is not required in these situations:

  • At the Foundational level, learners can take the test-out exam to earn the Foundational level achievement and move right to the Professional level. Learners have two attempts to pass; otherwise, completion of the training and an 80% passing exam score are required.
  • For those with a Teradata job role certification, learners can take the corresponding Accreditation Program Professional and/or Foundational level test-out exams to earn those accreditations. Otherwise, they can move directly to the Expert training for that accreditation.

Teradata job role certification holders can learn at the Expert level for the corresponding accreditation and bypass tests at the Foundational and Professional levels.

June 23, 2025, is the last day that Teradata certification exams are available.

Teradata job role certification holders can learn at the Expert level for the corresponding accreditation and bypass tests at the Foundational and Professional levels.

All current and active Teradata Vantage certifications are valid until June 30, 2027.

In response to evolving industry trends, Teradata is moving to a full Accreditation Program focused on job roles, Teradata Vantage, and artificial intelligence.

All Teradata certification earners are awarded a digital badge.

No. Job role certification holders can take the corresponding test-out exam at the Foundational and/or Professional levels to earn the accreditation and digital badge.

Vantage 2 Master achievements, awarded to those who have earned their Vantage Administration, Vantage Architecture, and Vantage Data Engineering certifications, are available through June 23, 2025.

The merchandise websites will be open through July 31, 2025.

All current, active certifications are valid through June 30, 2027.  Teradata job role certifications will enable earners to bypass Foundational and Professional accreditation levels and move directly to Expert level training.
